Weber 10020 Smokey Joe Silver Charcoal Grill, Black

We recently took a short trip up to Flagstaff, AZ and stayed at the Williams KOA. I know it is actually in Williams, but if you tell someone you went to Williams, AZ they have no idea where that is. We checked out the Deer Farm up there and overall had a lot of fun.

We wanted to cook at the site every meal and for that we used the Weber 10020 Smokey Joe Silver Charcoal Grill, Black. It was easy to throw on the back of the RV using the hitch mounted pad we have. Picked up some coal and we were ready to go.

The Weber 10020 Smokey Joe Silver Charcoal Grill, Black is your classic grill. It can cook enough food for 4 and is simple to use. The trick is to get the coals hot. Here is what I did. I used regular briquettes. Soaked them with lighter fluid. Waited a few minutes and lit them up. Left to top off to burn. When they are about 1/4 gray then I cover the grill with the vent fully open. I monitor it since this can sometimes cause it to snuff out.

When I get some red or orange glow I know I am ready to cook. I never move the coals around at all. I completely leave it sit. Then I place the food on the grill and let it cook. You get a pretty hot flame so watch the food carefully!

To store the grill I just left it on the rear platform that I removed from the RV.
